Kawah Ijen volcano complex is a group of composite volcanoes in the Banyuwangi Regency of East Java, Indonesia. It is inside a larger caldera Ijen, which is about 20 kilometres wide. The Gunung Merapi stratovolcano is the highest point of that complex. The name “Gunung Merapi” means “mountain of fire” in the Indonesian language (api being “fire”); Mount Merapi in central Java and Marapi in Sumatra have the same etymology.

Some really make a very hard effort it takes to reach the top of the actual but stopped at the lip of the crater (2,369 ft) where views of Crater Lake is mind blowing. To make climbing 1,000 meters in addition to top that desperately need a higher level of fitness, not to mention the strength of spirit and a sense of adventure.

Normally, a trip to the crater involves 1 day at Kawah Ijen Volcano, but is possible your capable to go summit of Kawah Ijen depend from your ability. It is often become part of the journey is longer period during at Mountain Rinjani into 2 days 1 night if you start from Bali or Duration will be 3 Days 2 Nights if you start from Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bali with combined betwen 2 popular volcanoes Mount Bromo And Kawah Ijen. Ok please visit Bromo Ijen trekking package 3 Days 2 Nights start trekking from Surabaya, Yogyakarta or Bali.

Hiking and Trekking Kawah Ijen Volcano Banyuwangi East Java Indonesia

Serving the travel package or tour packages offering the ascent of Kawah Ijen Volcano Tour with duration 1 day 1 night , 2 days 1 nights, 3 days 2 nights, 4 days 3 nights and 5 days 6 nights in Java, Indonesia. We specialize in personal relationships as a guide, both of which are also in the group together for all activities involving sports and recreation in the beautiful volcano, which specializes and has experience of climbing up to the mountain of other novice climbers to climb adventure on Kawah Ijen Volcano, Mount Bromo, Mount Agung Bali and Mount Rinjani Lombok Island. We have a complete package of information activities, hiking, trekking, climbing, and camping service in the National Park of Volcanoes Indonesia.

Is it a difficult hike? Very steep, yes, but you go up at night, so you can’t see how steep it is”. Kawah Ijen is a quiet but active volcano, set amidst a stunning landscape of volcanic cones and a beautiful turquoise coloured sulfur lake. The hike up is tough, but rather short (it took us no more than 1.5 hrs to reach the top), just as expected. The most grueling part of the hike and the reason for my mixed feelings about the experience, Is the long descent and then ascent to the base of the crater.

You will shared the narrow steep rocky path down to the bottom of Ijen Crater with at least 300 others. There is no time for photos, no time for distractions. Every step was carefully calculated to avoid tripping over another person or sliding down on lose rocks. It isn’t the safest activity you will ever participated in. When you reach the bottom/the crater, things only got worse. The wind is strong and the sulfur gas clouds would at times cover you head to toe, you need high quality gas masks.

For the Blue Flame/Blue Lava/Blue Fire at Kawah Ijen, you have to wait for the wind blows to the another side so you can take the photo and save it. Is it an incredible mind boggling sight? Sure, it is cool, but the scary climb down and the subsequent grueling climb up combined with the dangers of being exposure to sulfur flames just isn’t worth it. The road back is very beautiful. Mountain peaks of volcanic complex, a fog and clouds shrouding slopes, scorched trees and dense vegetation of forests and fields are on the way.

Kawah Ijen Blue Lava or Blue Fire Ijen Crater

Since National Geographic mentioned the electric-blue flame of Ijen, tourist numbers increased. The phenomenon has occurred for a long time, but beforehand there was no midnight hiking. A two-hour hike is required to reach the rim of the crater, followed by a 45-minute hike down to the bank of the crater. The blue fire is ignited sulphuric gas, which emerges from cracks at temperatures up to 600 degrees Celsius (1,112 degrees Fahrenheit). The flames can be up to 5 meters (16 feet) high; some of the gas condenses to liquid and is still ignited. It is the largest blue flame area in the world and local people refer to it as ‘Blue Fire’

A trip which is organized is by far the easiest option, the safest and most popular but also very likely to make all the arrangements yourself and we provide a Transport, Hotel and Tour Guide (Guide Speaking English). Kawah Ijen National Park regulations stipulate the use of certified guides so that even the most experienced mountain climbers and still need to be prepared to climb Kawah Ijen with professional guide service we had. The mountains of Licensed Guide certification Association (HPI) problem with guide Ijen and porter but it must be understood that the standard certification and training required no where near as tight as expected in many other countries. Serious accidents including the death that occurred on Ijen Volcano treks when led by the guide is accredited.

Proper sturdy climbing/trekking boots are an absolute necessity as is water resistant, wind resistant jacket, and head lights. If you are going to the top, the use of Poles (sticks) to get through the scree (loose rocks) above is also highly recommended. With 2000m, you’ll feel like you’re not in the tropics again because of rising damp, heat loss and temperature can fall as rain. If inappropriate clothes become wet difficulties will set up as temperatures go as low as 4c peak, often with cold winds is a significant factor in the extra. You must adjust the prepare.

Please, give us detailed information of a certainty the date of your climb to come to Java from this early start, after we receive confirmation of name hotel in Java, also include the full name to help us monitor as a visitor to volcanoes and also confirmed your mobile number, you can re-confirm again in a week before you come to Java via this email

2. Yogyakarta Tour

Yogyakarta Special Region (Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, DIY) is officially one of Indonesia’s 32 provinces. Yogyakarta is one of the foremost cultural centers of Java. This region is located at the foot of the active Merapi volcano, Yogyakarta was in the 16th and 17th centuries the seat of the mighty Javanese empire of Mataram from which present day Yogyakarta has the best inherited of traditions. The city itself has a special charm, which seldom fails to captivate the visitor.

This province is one of the most densely populated areas of Indonesia. The city came into being in 1755, after the Mataram division into the Sultanates of Yogyakarta and Surakarta (Solo). Gamelan, classical and contemporary Javanese dances, wayang kulit (leather puppet), theater and other expressions of traditional art will keep the visitor spellbound. Local craftsmen excel in arts such batiks, silver and leather works. Next to the traditional, contemporary art has found fertile soil in Yogya’s culture oriented society. ASRI, the Academy of Fine Arts is the center of arts and Yogyakarta itself has given its name to an important school of modern painting in Indonesia, perhaps best personified by the famed Indonesian impressionist, the late Affandi.

Yogyakarta is often called the main gateway to the Central Java as where it is geographically located. It stretches from Mount Merapi to the Indian Ocean. There is daily air service to Yogya from Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali as well as regular train service and easy accessibility by road. Yogyakarta is commonly considered as the modern cultural of Central Java. Although some may prefer Solo as a good runner up, Yogyakarta remains the clear front-runner for traditional dance, Wayang (traditional puppetry) and music.

Yogyakarta has more than just culture though. It is a very lively city and a shopper’s delight. The main road, Malioboro Street, is always crowded and famous for its night street food-culture and street vendors. Many tourist shops and cheap hotels are concentrated along this street or in the adjoining tourist area such Sosrowijayan Street.

The key attraction of Yogyakarta is ‘Kraton’ (the Sultan’s Palace). The Sultan’s palace is the centre of Yogya’s traditional life and despite the advance of modernity; it still emanates the spirit of refinement, which has been the hallmark of Yogya’s art for centuries. This vast complex of decaying buildings was built in the 18th century, and is actually a walled city within the city with luxurious pavilions and in which the current Sultan still resides. Yogyakarta is also the only major city, which still has traditional ‘Becak’ (rickshaw-style) transport.

Favorite Yogyakarta Tours

Sunrise at Setumbu Hill

One of our most popular tours is the Setumbu Hill Borobudur shared tour. This is a shared tour with hotel pickup around Yogyakarta. You’ll start the day watching sunrise over Borobudur Temple. After watching sunrise you visit the temple. This tour can be combined with a visit to Prambanan Temple.

Manohara Borobudur

The Manohara Borobudur Tour is more expensive than Setumbu Hill, but it’s also more impressive. Instead of watching sunrise from the hills surrounding Borobudur you’ll watch sunrise from between the Buddhist Stuppas. This is a once in a lifetime experience and is well worth the extra money.

Goa Jomblang

Goa Jomblang is one of the natural wonders of Yogyakarta and my favorite tourism site around the city. To visit the caves you are lowered down into a hidden forest, before walking through a series of dark tunnels. The highlight of the tour is Grubug Cave (see above). Make sure to visit the site when you come to Yogya. We run private tours to Goa Jomblang, but also arrange tickets.

Merapi Trekking

Feeling adventurous and want to do some hiking? Why not try to hike *drum roll* one of the most dangerous volcanoes in Indonesia? I’ve been two times to Merapi, but I still can’t get enough of it. The hike starts round midnight and you try to catch up sunrise at the peak of Merapi. You need to be reasonably fit for this. It’s a tough hike!

Ramayana Ballet

The Ramayana Ballet is an art performance held in the evening against the backdrop of Prambanan temple performed by a troupe of 200+ dancers. The show tells the story of King Rama. It is based on an ancient Hindu poem of the same name from Sri Lanka. If you enjoy cultural activities and traditional dance then you will definitely like this show.
